Southwell Leisure Centre Trust is delighted to announce that Parkwood Leisure has been selected as the Trust’s preferred operator, subject to final contract completion.

Following the recent Invitation to Tender (ITT) process, we’re delighted to confirm that the deadline has now passed — and we’ve received a number of exciting bids from highly experienced leisure operators.

The tender process to appoint a new 15-year operator is now underway.

We know that behind every comment, whether it’s frustration, disappointment, or encouragement, there’s a shared wish: for our community to have the best possible leisure facilities. We can promise to keep listening, keep communicating, and keep working towards a future where Southwell Leisure Centre is once again the thriving hub our community deserves.

Active4Today and Southwell Leisure Centre Trust have today signed an agreement to continue the daily operations of Southwell Leisure Centre until 31 March 2026.

A number of very exciting proposals were discussed for the future of the leisure centre, which will return to the Trust in the near future.

Southwell Leisure Centre Trust Waits For Newark & Sherwood District Council to Engage in Mediation

After being optimistic that we might make progress, the statement on the NSDC website by Cllr Peacock shatters these hopes.

No agreement on pool repair, will proceed to formal mediation.

Over the last month or so Southwell Leisure Centre has been refurbished. Ground-penetrating radar and other investigations have been done.

Several comprehensive quotes will be submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council for Southwell pool repair.

Formal requests for quotes have been sent to 5 nationally recognised and reputable companies to tender for the repairs.

The Trustees have been active, generously supported by Companies, Organisations, Advisory Group members & the public.
