Council agrees to mediation

Southwell Leisure Centre Trustees can confirm that we have now received word via Newark and Sherwood District Council’s solicitors that they are willing to engage in mediation. We are not quite sure why this confirmation took 5 weeks but are pleased that we can now move forward. We hope to agree on the mediator and mediation date very quickly.

The mediation discussions will remain private until an agreement is reached. The mediation itself is not expected to take longer than a day, with some initial preparation time.

The trustees want to see a swift resolution to the ongoing saga, while ensuring Southwell swimming pool is fit for purpose, for the foreseeable future.
