Since meeting in early November, the Trust and Advisory Group have continued to work on getting the quotes for pool repair work finalised, so they can be submitted to NSDC for consideration. An important investigation, Ground-Penetrating Radar, was carried out in mid November and the results will inform the works required. Quotes will be submitted imminently. Discussion has been held with NSDC about convening a meeting in December, hopefully to finalise the repair plan.

Trustees recently inspected maintenance works at the Leisure Centre and were pleased to note the improved appearance.

Several Trustees recently visited Bedford School to view repair work undertaken to the school’s pool. The purpose of the visit was to see first hand what could be done to bring the Southwell Pool back into operation. The Trustees were most impressed by the scope of the work and the way the school’s pool had been refurbished to modern standards with improved energy efficiency, water quality monitoring and new filtration systems. This was a cost effective and sustainable installation, which the Trustees hope can be replicated at Southwell leisure centre.
