Since our last blog entry a month ago the 7 members of the Southwell Leisure Centre Trust Board have remained active.
We have called on the expertise of several members of our Advisory Group, who have worked with nominated Trustees to proceed with key issues.

We have carried out further investigatory work on the pool, to clarify exactly what needs to be repaired or upgraded, in order to reopen it. The training pool remains open for teaching local children’s swimming lessons.
We are very grateful to all of the experts and companies who have offered their time and resources to us without charge.
We obtained further legal advice and are grateful to the organisations, which have given us funds to be able to do this.
We met with officer and councillor representatives from Newark & Sherwood District Council (NSDC) in late August and we have tentatively agreed a way forward, which might enable work to commence on repair.
The Trust Board last met on Thursday 29 August to share recent developments and will continue to meet regularly.
We appreciate the support of the Companies, Organisations, Advisory Group members and members of the public who have given us help so willingly.
We remain focused on the need to get the pool up and running as soon as we can!
